The Academic Advising and Transfer Center is here to serve your academic planning, transfer planning, graduation and career exploration needs.

We have advisors available to you at both our Grand Rapids main location and at the Lakeshore campus, in person and virtually.

Advising services

While our team is a little bit smaller right now, we're expanding our services beyond just 1:1 appointments to serve as many students as possible.

Please note:

These services are for currently admitted students and new students who have completed new student orientation. Current middle college student should reach out to their advisor.
Once admitted, dual enrolled students can access these events.
Students working with DSS/OSP/Trio are not eligible for these services. Please speak to your advising department.
If you are a transfer student, you must wait until your transcripts are evaluated before you will be eligible for these services.

If you are unable to find an open appointment, please utilize these advising services:

Ask an Advisor (Grand Rapids Campus only): Stop by the first floor of Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall, inside Student Services, for a quick conversation on summer or fall semester advising questions. Once we reach capacity for the time frame, the list will be cut off.
Text advising: Send us a text message at (616) 404-0044 during select times, and an advisor will answer your advising questions via text during the designated hours listed below.
Academic plan: Fill out the Academic Plan Request Form and an advisor will send you a unique and tailored class plan just for you. GRCC students must first be signed into their GRCC Google account.

Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services seeks to ensure students with disabilities have equal access to all curricular and co-curricular opportunities at GRCC.

Occupational Support Program

Occupational Support Program offers advising, support, advocacy, financial resources, and help with career readiness for eligible students in career or technical focused programs.

TRIO Student Support Services

TRIO, Student Support Services and TRIO STEM are federally funded programs that offer academic advising and additional support services to first-generation, low incomes students to assist in the completion of a certificate, associates or transfer degree.
